Mott Bee Farm PDF Print E-mail

These are photos of an apiary in Southwest Michigan in the early 1900s. The two gentlemen in the photos are ELMER ELSWORTH MOTT 1864 - 1943 and his son EARL WELTON MOTT 1891 - 1981. They operated the Mott Bee Farm at Glenwood, Michigan, near Dowagiac. Elmer and Earl Mott shipped packages of bees across the country in small wooden boxes.

Click this link for a map showing Glenwood.

These photos were provided by Elmer Mott's great-granddaughter, Brenda Miles of Kalamazoo. Thank you, Brenda, for sharing your family's old photos.
